Salonist Marketplace Booking Terms & Conditions

Customer Terms for Marketplace Bookings

Effective date: 25 September 2026

These Booking Terms & Conditions ("Terms") apply whenever a customer searches for, books, purchases, pays for, receives, cancels, reschedules or otherwise uses a service offered through the Salonist Marketplace. By confirming a booking, the customer agrees to these Terms, the applicable booking details shown at checkout, and any provider-specific conditions disclosed before confirmation.

1. Definitions

  1. "Salonist", "we", "us" or "our" means Salonist Software LLC and, where applicable, its authorised affiliates operating the Marketplace.
  2. "Marketplace" means the booking marketplace made available through Salonist websites, applications, booking pages or other digital channels.
  3. "Service Provider" or "Provider" means the independent salon, spa, clinic, barber, beauty, wellness, home-service or other business that lists and performs a service through the Marketplace.
  4. "Customer" means the person making or receiving a booking.
  5. "Booking" means a confirmed reservation for a service offered by a Service Provider.
  6. "Total Booking Amount" means the amount presented to the Customer at checkout, including the service price and any taxes, fees, add-ons or other charges disclosed before payment.

2. Role of Salonist

Salonist operates a technology marketplace that enables Customers to discover, compare, book and, where enabled, pay for services supplied by independent Service Providers. Unless Salonist expressly states otherwise for a particular service, Salonist does not itself perform the salon, spa, clinic, beauty, wellness or home service booked by the Customer.

The Service Provider is responsible for performing the booked service, maintaining the licences and approvals required for its activities, managing its staff and contractors, and complying with laws and professional requirements applicable to the service it provides.

Salonist may facilitate communications, booking administration, payments, refunds, credits, customer support and dispute handling without becoming the provider of the underlying service.

3. Customer Eligibility and Account Information

The Customer must provide accurate and current information when making a Booking, including contact details and any information reasonably required to deliver the service. The Customer is responsible for bookings made using their account, phone number, email address or authenticated booking session.

A Customer who books on behalf of another person must have authority to do so and must ensure that the recipient is informed of relevant booking details and these Terms. Services subject to legal age restrictions may only be booked or received by persons meeting the applicable requirements.

4. Service Listings and Availability

Service descriptions, durations, prices, staff availability, images and other listing information are supplied or maintained by the relevant Service Provider. Salonist may provide tools and controls for managing listings but does not guarantee that every listing is error-free or continuously available.

A Booking is subject to Provider availability. Salonist or the Provider may contact the Customer if a service, staff member, location, time slot or other booking element becomes unavailable and may offer a reasonable alternative, rescheduling option or refund where appropriate.

5. Booking Confirmation

A Booking becomes confirmed when the Customer receives a booking confirmation through the Marketplace, email, SMS, WhatsApp or another enabled communication channel. A payment attempt, pending card authorisation or booking request does not by itself guarantee acceptance unless confirmation is issued.

The Customer must review the confirmation and promptly report material errors in the date, time, location, service, Provider or amount.

6. Prices, Taxes and Charges

The price and charges applicable to a Booking will be displayed before the Customer confirms payment or the Booking. Prices may vary by Provider, location, staff member, service duration, selected add-ons, date, time, promotion or other disclosed commercial conditions.

Applicable VAT and other taxes or charges will be handled in accordance with applicable law and the information presented at checkout. The Customer is responsible for any additional amount expressly agreed with the Provider for extra services requested outside the original Booking.

7. Payments

Where online payment is enabled, Salonist or an authorised payment service provider may process or collect payment in connection with the Booking. Salonist may collect amounts as part of the Marketplace transaction flow and arrange settlement of the relevant net amount to the Service Provider after applicable commissions, fees, refunds, adjustments, taxes or other authorised deductions.

Payment methods, authorisation requirements and payment timing may vary. The Customer authorises the charging of the selected payment method for amounts properly due in connection with the Booking.

If a payment fails, is reversed, disputed or otherwise remains unpaid, Salonist or the Service Provider may request another payment method, suspend the Booking, cancel the Booking or take reasonable steps to recover the outstanding amount.

8. Cancellations and Rescheduling

Cancellation and rescheduling rules may vary by Service Provider, service type and Booking. The applicable policy should be shown during booking or otherwise communicated before confirmation.

Where a cancellation deadline applies, the Customer must cancel or reschedule within that period to avoid a charge. Late cancellation fees may be charged where disclosed. If the Provider cancels and cannot offer an acceptable alternative, any amount paid for the cancelled service will normally be refunded or credited, subject to the payment method and applicable law.

9. No-Shows and Late Arrival

If the Customer does not attend a confirmed Booking, the Provider may apply a no-show charge up to the amount permitted by the policy disclosed for that Booking.

Customers should arrive on time. A late arrival may result in a shortened service, rescheduling or cancellation if the Provider cannot reasonably complete the service without affecting subsequent bookings. Any applicable charge will be determined by the disclosed Provider policy and applicable law.

10. Refunds, Credits and Payment Reversals

Refund eligibility depends on the circumstances of the Booking, the applicable cancellation policy, whether the service was delivered, and applicable consumer law. Approved refunds may be returned to the original payment method or, where the Customer agrees and the Marketplace supports it, issued as account credit.

Bank, card network or payment-provider processing times are outside Salonist's direct control. A refund being approved does not mean it will appear immediately on the Customer's statement.

Promotional credits, vouchers or Marketplace credits may have separate validity, usage and refund rules disclosed when issued.

11. Promotions and Vouchers

Promo codes, vouchers, discounts and promotional credits are subject to the specific conditions of the relevant promotion. They may be limited by date, Provider, service, location, customer eligibility, minimum spend or number of uses.

Unless expressly permitted, promotions may not be combined, exchanged for cash, transferred, resold or used fraudulently. Salonist may cancel or reverse a promotional benefit obtained through misuse, duplicate accounts, manipulation or material error.

12. Service Quality and Customer Responsibilities

The Service Provider is responsible for the professional delivery, quality and suitability of the underlying service. Customers should communicate relevant service preferences, allergies, sensitivities, contraindications or other information that the Provider reasonably needs before the service begins.

The Customer must follow reasonable safety and preparation instructions given by the Provider. Salonist does not independently diagnose medical conditions or determine whether a particular treatment is suitable for an individual.

Where a service may have medical, aesthetic, dermatological or other health implications, the Customer should obtain appropriate professional advice and must rely on the qualified Provider's assessment before proceeding.

13. Home and On-Site Services

For a Booking performed at the Customer's home, hotel, office or other nominated location, the Customer must provide a safe, lawful and reasonably accessible environment and accurate location information.

The Customer must disclose material access restrictions and ensure that the Provider can safely enter and perform the booked service. The Provider may refuse or discontinue a service where there is a reasonable safety, legal, abusive, threatening or inappropriate-conduct concern.

14. Products, Materials and Allergies

Any products, equipment or materials used during the service are selected or supplied by the Service Provider unless expressly stated otherwise. The Customer should inform the Provider before the service of known allergies, sensitivities, pregnancy-related considerations, medical restrictions or previous adverse reactions relevant to the requested service.

The Provider may decline, modify or stop a service where it reasonably considers that proceeding would be unsafe or inappropriate.

15. Communications

By making a Booking, the Customer agrees to receive transactional communications reasonably necessary to manage that Booking, including confirmations, reminders, changes, payment messages, service updates, support messages and review requests through available channels such as email, SMS, WhatsApp or in-app notifications.

Marketing communications are subject to applicable consent and opt-out requirements and are separate from communications necessary to administer an active Booking.

16. Reviews and Feedback

Customers may be invited to provide ratings, reviews or feedback. Reviews must reflect genuine experiences and must not contain unlawful, defamatory, abusive, discriminatory, fraudulent, misleading or irrelevant content.

Salonist may moderate, restrict or remove content that violates Marketplace rules or applicable law, while preserving legitimate customer feedback where reasonably possible.

17. Complaints and Disputes

Customers should raise service-related complaints as soon as reasonably possible and provide relevant Booking information and supporting evidence where available.

Salonist may facilitate communications between the Customer and Service Provider and may investigate transaction records available through the Marketplace. Any assistance by Salonist does not remove the Service Provider's responsibility for the service it performed and does not prevent either party from exercising rights available under applicable law.

18. Prohibited Conduct

Customers must not misuse the Marketplace, interfere with its operation, impersonate another person, submit false payment information, exploit promotions, make fraudulent chargebacks, harass Providers or Salonist personnel, or use the Marketplace for unlawful purposes.

Salonist may restrict, suspend or terminate access, cancel affected bookings, withhold promotional benefits, or take other reasonable protective action where fraud, abuse, security risk or material breach is suspected.

19. Marketplace Integrity and Off-Platform Transactions

Salonist may provide communication and payment tools intended to protect booking records, customer support and transaction traceability. Customers and Providers should not misuse the Marketplace to circumvent charges, commissions, safety controls or booking records applicable to a Marketplace transaction.

Nothing in this clause prevents a Customer from independently choosing where to purchase services in the future, subject to applicable law and any lawful Provider terms.

20. Data and Privacy

Personal data collected in connection with Marketplace Bookings may be processed by Salonist, the relevant Service Provider, payment service providers and other authorised service providers as necessary to operate the Booking, process payments, provide support, prevent fraud, comply with legal obligations and deliver enabled communications.

Each Service Provider may independently be responsible for personal data it collects or uses in connection with providing its services. Customers should review applicable privacy notices for further information about data processing and rights.

21. Intellectual Property and Platform Use

The Marketplace software, interface, branding, content owned by Salonist, databases and related intellectual property are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. Customers receive only a limited right to use the Marketplace for legitimate personal or business booking purposes.

No person may copy, scrape, reverse engineer, commercially exploit, interfere with or reproduce protected Marketplace elements except where permitted by law or expressly authorised in writing.

22. Third-Party Services

The Marketplace may depend on third-party payment processors, messaging providers, maps, communications infrastructure and other external services. Salonist is not responsible for outages or failures caused solely by third-party systems outside its reasonable control, but will take commercially reasonable steps to restore or support affected Marketplace functionality where appropriate.

23. Limitation of Responsibility

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Salonist is not responsible for acts or omissions of an independent Service Provider, including the Provider's professional performance, staff conduct, treatment decisions, products used, premises or failure to follow applicable professional obligations.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including mandatory consumer rights. Salonist remains responsible for its own obligations to the extent required by applicable law.

24. Indemnity for Misuse

To the extent permitted by law, a Customer may be responsible for losses reasonably arising from the Customer's fraudulent, unlawful or intentional misuse of the Marketplace, violation of another person's rights, or material breach of these Terms. This clause does not reduce mandatory consumer protections.

25. Force Majeure and Events Outside Reasonable Control

Salonist or a Service Provider may be unable to perform an obligation because of events outside reasonable control, including severe weather, natural disaster, government action, telecommunications or infrastructure failure, public emergency, labour disruption or other comparable event. Affected Bookings may be rescheduled, cancelled, refunded or credited as appropriate to the circumstances and applicable law.

26. Suspension and Termination

Salonist may suspend or terminate Marketplace access where reasonably necessary for security, fraud prevention, legal compliance, repeated abuse, non-payment or material breach of these Terms. Where appropriate, Salonist may also cancel affected future Bookings and process amounts already paid in accordance with the applicable cancellation, refund and legal requirements.

27. Changes to these Terms

Salonist may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in the Marketplace, commercial arrangements, technology or law. The version presented or linked at the time a Booking is confirmed will generally govern that Booking, unless a change is required by law or is expressly agreed with the Customer.

28. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the applicable laws of the United Arab Emirates and, where relevant, the laws and regulations applicable in the Emirate in which Salonist is established or the relevant transaction is carried out, without prejudice to mandatory consumer-protection rights.

Any dispute that cannot be resolved amicably will be subject to the competent courts or authorities having jurisdiction under applicable UAE law.

29. Severability and Entire Booking Terms

If any provision of these Terms is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue to apply to the extent permitted by law.

These Terms, together with the Booking confirmation, the price and cancellation information shown at checkout, applicable Provider-specific conditions, and relevant privacy notices, form the terms applicable to the Marketplace Booking.

30. Acceptance at Checkout

By selecting the acceptance checkbox and confirming the Booking, the Customer acknowledges that they have read and agreed to these Salonist Marketplace Booking Terms & Conditions and any cancellation, refund and Provider-specific conditions presented before confirmation.

Recommended checkout wording

"I agree to the Salonist Marketplace Booking Terms & Conditions and the applicable cancellation and refund policy."

31. Contact and Support

For questions concerning a Marketplace Booking, Customers should use the support or contact method made available within the relevant Salonist Marketplace booking flow. Service-specific questions may be referred to the relevant Service Provider.
