Best Barbershop near me in Purulia, West Bengal

Purulia is the dry, red plateau at the far west of West Bengal, on the Jharkhand border: the Ajodhya hills, the palash trees that flame in March, the Chhau dancers of the villages, and Purulia town itself as the modest headquarters with Adra and Raghunathpur as the railway and industrial towns. It is a district of small farms and long distances, and its barbershops are market-row shops with a chair, a mirror and a regular clientele.

Prices are the lowest in the state. A basic cut is ₹50 to ₹140, a mid-range unisex salon in Purulia town or Raghunathpur charges ₹180 to ₹400, and there is no premium tier. A beard trim is ₹50 to ₹180, a straight-razor shave ₹40 to ₹120, and a head massage ₹60 to ₹180. Grey coverage is ₹350 to ₹900. Modern fade work is thin on the ground, so check photos before you expect one; the practised fade barbers are in the industrial towns of Paschim Bardhaman, ninety minutes north-east, or in the temple town of Bankura.

Salonist shows live chair availability, lets you book a named barber, and takes UPI in the app. In a district where the market day decides when people come to town, that means the haircut is a fixed slot instead of an hour in the Sunday-morning queue outside the busy shops near the Purulia bus stand. The platform covers 15,000+ businesses across 60+ countries and holds 2 million+ reviews, so hygiene and finish can be checked from reviews and photos before the ride in.

Customers are district-office staff, students from the colleges and the university, railway families in Adra, and farming families in town on market day with the children in tow. Durga Puja, the Tusu festival at Makar Sankranti, and the winter wedding months are the peaks, with groom packages arranged well ahead. Winter visitors to Ajodhya and the palash season in March bring a few travellers wanting a trim. The forest district of Jhargram to the south shares the same prices and the same barbers.
