Good groomers work in an air-conditioned van, use cooler dryer settings and give the dog breaks. Mention the problem when you book so the appointment is placed at a cooler time of day.

Clippers give an even, quicker finish and suit most pet trims. Scissoring is hand work that shapes the coat more precisely, costs more because it takes longer, and is what breed-specific styles usually require.
They are accurate for a dog in normal condition. Extras such as heavy mat removal, a de-shed package or medicated shampoo are added on top, and the groomer will agree those with you first.
