Pain is subjective and varies greatly from person to person and depending on the placement. Tattoos: Most people describe tattoo pain as a consistent stinging or scratching sensation. Areas with less muscle/fat and close to bone tend to be more sensitive. Piercings: Piercings involve a sharp, quick pinch, followed by a dull ache. The level of discomfort depends on the location. Our piercers work quickly and efficiently to minimise discomfort.
Proper aftercare is crucial for healing and the longevity of your new tattoo or piercing. We will provide detailed verbal and written aftercare instructions tailored to your specific tattoo or piercing before you leave the studio. General guidelines include: Keep it clean: Wash hands thoroughly before touching. Clean with a mild, fragrance-free antibacterial soap for tattoos, or sterile saline solution for piercings. Keep it moisturised (tattoos only): Apply a thin layer of recommended tattoo aftercare balm. Avoid soaking: No swimming, baths, or prolonged water immersion during the initial healing period. Showers are fine. Avoid direct sun exposure. Do not pick, scratch, or twist (for piercings). Follow all specific instructions provided by your artist/piercer.
For the safety of both mother and baby, we advise do not tattoo or pierce individuals who are pregnant or breastfeeding. Your immune system is compromised, and there's a theoretical risk of infection or allergic reaction that could impact the baby.
