Frequently asked questions
Do clients need to download an app?
No. Apple Wallet and Google Wallet are built into every iPhone and Android phone. The client taps Add to Wallet and the card is in their phone.
Can I set this up without a developer?
Yes. Design the card in Salonist, issue cards to your existing clients with one click, and everything else happens automatically as clients book, pay and earn.
How do points, balances and memberships update?
Every checkout, top-up, redemption or membership renewal in Salonist updates the card in place on every device it was added to. Same link, no reissue.
Can the same card hold loyalty points and an e-wallet balance?
Yes. You choose which fields show. A single card can carry points, tier, e-wallet balance, membership plan and package sessions.
Can reception scan the card?
Yes. The barcode holds the client ID and scanning it opens the client in Salonist.
Does it work on both Apple and Google Wallet?
Yes. One card produces the Apple .pkpass and a Save to Google Wallet link, and it counts as one pass.
What if a client loses or changes their phone?
The card lives on the server. Resend the same link and the current card, with the latest balance, installs on the new phone.
What counts as a pass?
Each card created and each update that changes a card. Pro includes 10,000 a month, Business 25,000. Revokes do not count.
